Source and release

The principal source is public electronic filing data from the Texas Ethics Commission. The current public database is release v1.4. Its source snapshot was imported September 17, 2026; the latest analytics-eligible reported transaction represented in that snapshot is dated September 15, 2026.

The latest transaction date describes records represented in the release. It should not be read as a guarantee that every filing, amendment, or correction submitted through that date is present beyond the supplied source snapshot.

Reported and derived information

Source records are preserved separately from derived analytical layers. Pages distinguish reported filer, contributor, and payee information from canonical identities, vendor classifications, aggregates, rankings, relationships, and other derived measures. Derived information is analytical interpretation rather than a statement made by the Texas Ethics Commission.

Corrections and operative reports

Public analytical queries use the report-eligibility layer to distinguish operative reports from superseded correction families. Superseded reports are excluded. Correction families that cannot be resolved confidently are excluded from analytics rather than forced into an uncertain operative state.

Provenance and reproducibility

Contribution and expenditure records retain source-file, source-row, and import-time provenance internally. Public releases are versioned and fingerprinted with SHA-256 checksums so a frozen release can be identified and reproduced.

Public-output controls

Public transaction, search, aggregate, and CSV outputs are governed by explicit positive field allowlists. Fields not expressly approved for a public output channel are rejected by default. Contributor street-address-line fields are expressly prohibited from public output. City, state, and ZIP information may be shown where present in the public-source record.
